  Unloaded on the husband of my wife's study sister last night, how much damage did I do to myself??

  well had a really good weekend away from home, but i guess i knew that the respite from the wts would end.

  tuesdays are the day my wife has her personal bible study with the sister and she has also had the husband come over on tuesday afternoons so the son can have the pleasure of a bible study (which he loathes, he is a high school junior and has no interest in this stuff).

  i get home from work late, after a fairly long day and the guy is still there.

  Selection of the JWs in 1918/1919 - how might a JW attempt to show from the Bible

  i had asked my wife, who is in the study phase with a jw sister about the selection of the jws by jc in 1918/1919 time frame and she had actually never heard of that.. the husband of this woman she is studying with has been chomping at the bit to talk to me...well my wife said she will ask him to come show me, using only the bible, how this selection was made...of course she did not clear this request with the dubman before telling me she would do this.. i am guessing he will be there when i get home from work tomorrow, she is also torturing our son with a bs now (her son from a previous marriage).. what sort of reach do you think he will try to make to show this...i am guessing he will try to show 1914 from the daniel/revelation stuff, if he does this i am going to ask him to show 607bce from a non jw source....since i believe it is 586/587 bce as a starting date......i hope to keep him on the 1918/1919 topic, and have some examples of their beliefs from that era to talk about as well.

  i took today off work due to a family reunion.

  at around 0845 i found myself in the local mickeydee's for a coffee.

  while sitting there almost ready to go, in walks a tall, very unhappy looking man, followed by his son [i assume] of about 12. the man was dressed like jw's sans the jacket - the boy in a full suit.. what struck me was the absolute look of unhappiness on both faces.

  Yes stillin, but the boy is also probably in the 75-80% that end up leaving, so better days ahead!

  What the Family Worship Evening Arrangement Really Entails

  as most people here know the combined book study allows an evening for "family worship".. the co visits march - august 2009 is really focussing on this.

  if a jdub family head doesn't do a full evening of family worship and uses this time to do recreational activities he is as guilty as isrealite who didn't use the sabbath for worship.

  the result, will of course be same as the unfaithful isrealite, death!!!!!!!!!

  poppers: thanks for posting that link. Some good info in there. And the replies bring up more good info.

  To: Luis Gonzalez Hate to say it, but George Washington really was the first president of our Federal Republican government which we (theoretically) still have today. The presidents before him were actually presidents of the Continental Congress which was designated by the Articles of Confederation. We weren't so much a nation then, as a confederation of states. (You can find all of this neat stuff at snopes.com anyway...

  Regarding Prince's comment: he sounds exactly like a JW would - using a totally different topic of discussion to deflect away from damaging secret history of the WT. (secret only to other JWs who can't freely research their own religion)

  MY B-I-L IS IN THE HOSPITAL

  here's another update on my brother in law:.

  my sister and b-i-l went to the cancer center in toronto earlier this week to see about getting the stemcell transplant for his disease.

  it was actually an encouraging visit as the oncologist there said that they did not feel his condition had progressed into the acute myloid leukemia yet and that he had longer---up to 2 years---than what his local oncologist had said.

  thanks again for posting these. I do hope they come in handy in a court of law one day. Especially considering the amount of printing they do to counteract their actual behavior. Truly unbelievable!

  Really creepy the way they talk about the "slave". This in itself identifies their cultish behaviour. JWs like to deny they belong to a cult by saying (usually with alot attitute) that a cult always has "A leader".

  lumping a group into one personality is the same thing.

  i often wondered about this when i first started questioning things.. .

  any jw that has died in decades past, how are they even eligible for ressurection?

  during the time in which they died, they were never taught "the truth", as everything changed.. any jw today, looking forward to armageddon coming tomorrow, isn't being taught "the truth" either, as will be made manifest by more doctrinal change.
